Kerala govt to lure private players with special policy; plans to open free of cost MSME clinics

Kochi, Jan 28 (KNN) Due to limitation in land availability in Kerala, the State government is planning to develop the Private Industrial Estate policy for private players to start industrial parks and is also working towards establishing MSME clinics to help MSMEs free of cost, said Harikishore, Director, Industries & Commerce Kerala during a panel discussion at a MSME Growth Summit.

The Kerala chapter of MSME Growth Summit was organised by Elets Technomedia and Meta to showcase the key role of MSMEs in the economic development of the state. 

During the event, a panel discussion took place wherein speakers from the Government of Kerala and industry participated. 

Speaking on the lines of providing loans to MSMEs, K Aravindakshan, Chief Financial Officer, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) said, “Our focus is on the SME sector and for the MSME sector as a while we provide conventional loans, short term loans and to extend support during the covid crisis we have come up with different schemes for MSMEs under the Chief Ministers’ Special Assistance.”

Industrial sector in Kerala comprises medium and large industries, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and traditional industries.
