Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development marks 20,900 employment creation in FY22

Kochi, Mar 23 (KNN) The Industries Minister of Kerala P Rajeev said that the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development (KINFRA) has created about 20,900 jobs along with a private investment worth of Rs 1,522 crore in the fiscal year of 2021-22.

He said the agency responsible for industrial development in the state has performed better across various segments as compared to last year.

Minister Rajeev revealed that 128.82 acre land were allotted in 2021-22 (till January 2022) alone and the land allotments for the past five-year period stood at 527.21 acre.

For multi-storey factory buildings, the allotment stood at 6,80,619.06 sq ft over the past five years while 3,45,800.42 sq ft was allotted in 2021-22 until January.

He also highlighted the land acquisition for the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial corridor as a significant development in 2021-22.

The Idukki Spices Park under the MSME-CDP scheme of the Union MSME ministry is currently in development, informed the Industries Minister Rajeev.

The first phase of the spices park at an investment of Rs 12.5 crore is in progress at Muttam in Idukki.

As much as Rs 5 core will be provided by the Centre for the development of the park in various stages, and is expected to create about 300 jobs and an investment of Rs 45 crore. (KNN Bureau)
