Kerala registers 49,608 MSMEs so far in FY23

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 25 (KNN) Kerala’s Minister for Industries P. Rajeeve said on Wednesday that till now about 49,608 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been registered.

The state government has set a target to start one lakh such units in fiscal year 2022-23 which is observed as the ‘Year of Entrepreneurship’.

He was replying during question hour in the Kerala Assembly, reported The Hindu.

The minister said that more than 1.08 lakh job opportunities have been generated and investment to the tune of Rs 2,930 crore has come in.

On the lines of ‘Made in Kerala’ branded products would be promoted to create market space for these businesses and an e-commerce platform would be set up for sale of these products, he said.

Special fairs of these products will be organised by the Industries Department at the district, block and panchayat levels.  (KNN Bureau)
