Kerala to develop its own e-commerce platform for MSMEs

Kochi, Sept 16 (KNN) The Kerala government is planning to create an e-commerce platform to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and provide access to technologies in the digital e-commerce space.
They are aiming to bring the state’s e-commerce platform under central government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), reported TNIE.
This will ensure that Kerala’s MSME sector does not miss out on the opportunity.
“Several workshops are being organised for stakeholders to familiarise with ONDC,” Industries Minister P Rajeeve told TNIE.
Recognising Kerala’s effort, ONDC said in a Facebook post, “Kerala has taken a big leap forward in digital commerce with ONDC.”
“The network will act as a facilitator to get players on a par in the digital e-commerce space,” it said.
In the next one year the state is likely to bring one lakh MSMEs across all sectors under this digital initiative. (KNN Bureau)
