Kerala to promote eco-friendly industries as EV production

Kottayam, May 20 (KNN) Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the State government has decided to focus on the growth of eco-friendly industries through the production of electric vehicles. 

Inaugurating the commercial production of newsprint by the Kerala Paper products Limited (KPPL) at Velloor on Thursday CM Vijayan highlighted the industrial growth of the state the roadmap to transform it into a middle-income developed economy within 10 to 15 years. 

He said that the government will focus on modernising industrial sector such as IT, tourism, biotech, agri, food industry etc. 

Additional to this we will also focus on eco-friendly industries through the production of electric vehicles, he added. 

Talking about the state of MSMEs in Kerala, he said that there been a significant jump in the number of MSME units in the State. 

About 83,541 enterprises, 7,900 crore investments and 2,98,361 jobs were created in the State over the recent past, he added.  (KNN Bureau)
