First Infinity Centre under Kerala Start-up set up in Dubai
Kochi, June 19 (KNN) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday launched the first Infinity Centre of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in Dubai, marking a foray into the global market.
The aim of the state government is to roll out its programme of setting up one-stop destinations across the world to strengthen the state’s ecosystem for nascent companies.
The idea of Infinity Centres comes in the context of NRIs totalling 3.2 crore, topping India in the global list of hosting the largest number of migrant citizens.
Adding about USD 78 billion in remittances to the Indian economy, they play a huge role in the development of India. Considering this, KSUM conceived the Startup Infinity as an initiative to help the NRI community set up business in Kerala and tap into their vast amount of resources to support nascent companies.
Elaborating on the government’s plans to attain a sustainable start-up ecosystem in the State, the CM stressed on the possibility of bridge funding in the sector.
He added that there was immense possibility for start-ups in various avenues including software design, information technology, agriculture and arts. (KNN Bureau)
