KSUM to launch overseas facilitation centres to bolster start-up ecosystem in state
Thiruvananthapuram, May 18 (KNN) The Kerala Start-up Mission(KSUM) has decided to launch overseas facilitation centres called ‘Start-up Infinity’ to enhance state’s start-up ecosystem.
The overseas facilitation centres will serve as launch pads for Kerala start-ups that are keen to explore foreign markets and it will enable non-resident Indians (NRIs) to become entrepreneurs in association with KSUM.
The start-up Infinity programme aims to encourage the NRI population to launch businesses overseas and in Kerala.
As per reports, the centres will be setup in association with global partners selected through an official process. KSUM will soon publish on its website a call for expression of interest.
A KSUM expert committee will evaluate the applications based on a scoring criteria that will gauge the expertise, knowledge and networks available with the applicants besides the quality and cost of the proposed facility.
The selected partner will then have to provide a commercial proposal along with an engagement plan that outlines the key performance indicators for a mutually agreed contract period not exceeding one year. KSUM will do a quarterly review of the centre and renewals.
Tasked with helping Kerala-based start-ups explore the overseas market, the Infinity centres seek to make Kerala a key point of access for overseas start-ups to explore the Indian market. (KNN Bureau)
