Kinfra Defence Park to come up in Palakkad at the cost of Rs 131.35 crore

New Delhi, Dec 11 (KNN) Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has given 'in principle approval' for the project at Kinfra Defence Park at Ottapalam in the Palakkad district of Kerala.

The major activities as envisaged in proposed park as per Detailed Feasibility Report are creation of facilities like CETP, storm water drainage, rain water harvesting, internal roads, boundary wall entry gate, water supply system, power supply distribution, dormitory, hostel facility, research and development, incubation centre, quality certification centre, warehouse training centre and environment testing facility, Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh said in a written reply to Mullappally Ramachandran in Lok Sabha today .

The cost of the project is Rs.131.35 crore including Central Grant of Rs.50 crore. The proposed Defence Park is at ‘in principle’ approval stage.

As per ‘Modified Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (MIIUS)’ guidelines, the completion time of the project is 24 months from the date of final approval, the Minister said. (KNN Bureau)
