KINFRA to establish spices processing park in Thodupuzha

New Delhi, Feb 16 (KNN) Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) has got the consent of Union government for setting up a spices processing cluster at Thodupuzha in Idukki district.

The project cost is estimated around Rs 12.50 crore excluding the price of land. The project will be funded through Union and State Government.

The project stretches on 15 acres, of which over 10.5 acres are to house 20 developed plots that will be for SME spice food processing units.

The basic facilities like telecommunication, cyber centre and documentation centre, raw material storage facility, marketing outlets, cafeteria and a conference room will be provided in the park .

Around Rs 6 crore will be available under the infrastructure development scheme of the union government and the remaining amount will be provided by the state government and KINFRA.

To get the final approval from the government, a detailed project report for the proposed park will be sent soon according to a media report. The park will be built for the processing and value addition of spices and spice product and also offer processing facilities that in accord with the international standards.
