KSIA pushing Karnataka govt to form Baikampady Industrial Township Authority

New Delhi, Nov 20 (KNN) The Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) at Baikampady in Mangaluru is pushing the Karnataka government to form Baikampady Industrial Township Authority (BITA) to make the industrial area more disciplined, Gaurav Hegde, President, KSIA told KNN India.

Hegde said “We are pushing the state government to form BITA so that entire industrial area comes under one authority.”

Explaining the need for BITA, he said that “When industrial areas are handed over to local civic bodies, the industries neither get the services nor the investments.”

The first industrial township authority is set up in electronic city, Bangalore which is running very well compared to other civic authorities run institutions.

He said “Infrastructure is a key for any industry and such industrial townships take care of existing industrial areas with regard to infrastructure and helps in regulating industries through better governance.”

It also helps in maintain discipline including environment issues, common treatment plants, taking care of solid waste and industrial waste.

With regard to this, KSIA has submitted its application with the Karnataka Industries Department to notify Baikampady as an industrial township authority.
