Hubbali, Jan 27 (KNN) The Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC) will set up more industrial estates in order to generate 10 lakh jobs over the next two years, said its chairman, B Gurappa Naidu.

Addressing reporters here on Saturday, Naidu said that in the 54 years since its establishment, the corporation has set up only 175 industrial estates across the state. It has a plan to develop industrial estates on around 3,000 acres of land and facilitate establishment of about 7,000 to 8,000 industrial units.

KSSIDC had been allotted 870 acres for the development of industrial estates and work on an industrial estate had begun at Mangur in Chikkodi taluk of Belagavi district, he said.
He said that the corporation was looking for 50 acres in Hubballi-Dharwad for establishing another industrial estate.

Naidu also assured that a committee had been constituted to inquire into the irregularities in the allotment of sale of industrial land allotted at Peenya Industrial Estate in Bengaluru. (KNN Bureau)
