Local firms to help start industry driven courses in Punjab ITIs

Chandigarh, Aug 29 (KNN) The Department of Technical Education and Industry Training (DTE&IT), Punjab wants to rope in local industrial firms to design and start new courses on industry training in ITIs of the state.

“The course would be designed by local industry in partnership with ITIs and delivered by sharing of infrastructure augmented by the industry in terms of modern training equipment and their expert trainers based on flexible MoU,” said an official notification.

The aim of the project is to take on the long standing requirement of the industry for starting tailor made industry relevant, high employment potential courses with national level certification.

In this context, DTE&IT is inviting bids from reputed industrial organisations to start industry driven courses in ITIs of the state.

The department has been entrusted with responsibility of imparting vocational training in engineering and non-engineering trades under craftsman training scheme to cater to the needs of industry in respect of skilled workers. (KNN/ST)
