Ludhiana based CICU with IIT Ropar to help MSMEs in Technology upgradation

Ludhiana, Dec 1 (KNN) In a bid to upgrade Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in technology, Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has planned to collaborate with India Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar.  

''IIT Ropar will showcase research projects in MECH AUTO EXPO which will be held in Ludhiana from February 19th to 22nd, 2021. It will help both the industry and academia to come closer and add value to each other,'' an official statement said on Tuesday.

''Few units are sick and on the verge of closure, moreover, next-generation do not want to spoil their career in low-profit units and migrate to other countries to build their future. The only way out is to graduate to high tech parts with better value addition for the survival of MSME to work in the same direction CICU has planned to collaborate with Academic institutes,'' the statement added.

CICU President, S Upkar Singh Ahuja visited IIT Ropar along with B.S Bhullar, consultant IIT Ropar and Dr. Joseph John from CMC Hospital and met with Senior Faculty Prof. Savit K. Das Director & Professor, Dr. Prabir Sar Kas Association Professor and Preetinder Kaur P.R.O, Ashish Sahni, Assistant Professor CBME.

Ahuja also discussed with the department of Mechanical Engineering about innovative products and design improvement for MSMEs.
