Ludhiana exporters raise MEIS delays & supply chain issues to Som Parkash, MoS for Commerce

Ludhiana, 25 Nov (KNN) The delegation of Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU ) met Som Parkash Minister of State for Commerce and Industry to discuss the issues related to export and industry.

The meeting was facilitated by by Suvidh Shah, ITS, Joint DGFT Ludhiana.

Upkar Singh Ahuja, President and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU jointly highlighted the problems being faced by exporters.  

“Exporter are facing very tough time due to delay in MEIS, shortage of containers, exorbitant charges by Shipping Companies,” they shared.  

“Also exporters could not match the prices being quoted by competitors due to untimely raise of prices by raw material manufacturers specially of yarn and fiber,” said the official release.

Further, the exporters are not able to grab maximum benefits out of the Central Govt. schemes like MEIS and RODTEP Rates.

Mirdula Jain highlighted the problem faced by the Garment exporters and she expressed the various schemes given by Central Govt. are pro-corporate houses, while the schemes should be ease for MSME sector also.

Minister Parkash noted all the issues being faced by the exporters and assured that all the issues will be taken up and resolve soon.
