Ludhiana Industries demand electricity at Rs 5 per unit

Ludhiana, Jan 20 (KNN) The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) met the newly appointed Chief Engineer Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) Varinderpal Singh Saini and discussed several issues pertaining to state power corporation.

They also discussed the issues related to the Industry like unscheduled power cuts due to non-proper maintenance, Capping of Power Tariffs for Industry & Simplification of obtaining Power Connection, Proper Staff in Focal Point Division, Relaxation in Fixed and Demand charges and Electricity Duty in the Electricity Bills.

According to a statement on Tuesday, the industry body further demanded to waive or fix charges on power, waive off interest on ACD, 50 per cent rebate on night tariff and provide electricity at Rs 5/- per unit as promised.

Later Saini thanked the delegation for the welcome and assured that the issue of unscheduled power cuts will resolve soon and other matters will also be taken up with higher authority.

S Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, S B Singh, Joint Secretary, Gautam Malhotra, Vice President and Sanjay Dhiman, Vice President were present.
