Madhya Pradesh supplementary budget allots Rs 2580 cr to MSME department to increase jobs

Bhopal, Mar 11 (KNN) The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department of Madhya Pradesh has been given a provision of Rs 2580 crore to boost the employment sector in its third supplementary budget.

Jagdish Devda, state finance minister tabled the Rs 15,232 crore budget on Thursday, and a two hour discussion will be instituted by the speaker today.

For the finance department, a budgetary provision of Rs 742 crore has been made while Rs 375 crore for the energy department and for the labour department.

Textile manufacturing and trading is considered as one of the oldest business in Madhya Pradesh which contributes significant to its economy with a strong presence of the MSME sector.

On the automobile industry front, Pithampur is also known as Detroit of India due to presence of Indore special economic zone.

Devda has also provisioned Rs 950 crore to face the issues related to natural calamity including draught which poses as major challenge to this central state.

Departments such as Public Health Engineering Department (PHE) and Rural Development have been allotted Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 1211crore from the supplementary budget.

In view of the societal development, Rs 1380 crore has been provisioned for social justice department, Rs 1492 crore for higher education department and Rs 2070 crore has been reserved for schemes of schedule caste welfare schemes. (KNN Bureau)
