Indore attracts Rs 6,842 cr investment under PM MITRA Park

Indore, May 22 (KNN) Union Minister of Textiles, Piyush Goyal said on Sunday that about 20 investors have presented an 'Intention to invest' letter worth Rs 6,842 crore in the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel scheme park in Indore.

Speaking at the inauguration of the mega textile park in Indore, he said other parts of the state are also expected to receive about Rs 8,675 crore.

The central government had announced plans to set up seven mega textile parks under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme.

The scheme was approved with an outlay of Rs 4,445 crore for a period of seven years upto 2027-28.

Referring to the tribal district of Dhar, he said this government is considerate of the problems faced in backward areas. 

“The park will help create employment and will help boost the profits earned by farmers,” he added. 

In addition to Madhya Pradesh, these parks are being established in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.  (KNN Bureau)
