Madhya Pradesh lures Rs 200 cr investment from toy producers

Indore, July 17 (KNN) The MSME department of Madhya Pradesh is expecting to attract more than Rs 200 crore investment from toy manufacturers from Delhi and adjacent states during this fiscal year.

Toy manufacturers of Delhi have intended to invest in Madhya Pradesh in the clusters and on industrial land parcels close to well-developed cities like Indore having easy access to transport, allied industry and labour, reported TOI.

However the lack of availability of industrial land near Indore may discourage some investment.

Under the banner of the Toy Association of India (TAI) around 40 industries from 36 companies of India had recently shown interest in putting up manufacturing units in Madhya Pradesh.

A meeting with the state MSME department was recently held in Delhi.

The MSME department secretary and commissioner P Narhari said, “Toy industries of Delhi and nearby areas have shown keen interest in setting up manufacturing units in the state and we expect at least Rs 200 crore investment from the sector. We have proposed undeveloped land parcels to investors in 20 districts of the state where they can set up units by applying under different investment promotion schemes of the state government’s toy policy and get land on a first come first serve basis.”

TAI has also proposed to sign a MOU with the MP government to explore and enhance export and domestic sale opportunities.  (KNN Bureau)
