MP govt presents Rs 3.14 lakh cr budget electronically; promises 1 lakh jobs

Bhopal, Mar 1 (KNN) The Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday presented a Rs 3.14 lakh crore state budget for 2023-24 which also marks as its first ever annual budget to be tabled electronically.

Reading out the budget proposals, Finance Minister Jagdish Devda has announced creation of over 1 lakh jobs.

A fund of Rs 1000 crore is allocated for Chief Minister Skill Internship Scheme in the state.

He also announced an additional 2 per cent interest subsidy on the loans of 3 lakh to Self Help Groups (SHGs).

The women SHGs in Madhya Pradesh have also been provided with credit linkage of more than RS 5084 crore, he added.

Owing to the hike in the LPG cylinder price, the opposition staged a walkout from the Assembly.

The FM has not proposed any new tax in the state budget.

The per capita income of the state is expected to reach Rs 1,40,583 in FY23 from Rs 38,497 in FY12, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

He said the GSDP is expected to touch Rs 13,22,821 crore.  (KNN Bureau)
