Wedding Season Brings Cheers To 1500 Garment Units In Indore

Indore, Nov 25 (KNN) Indore, a key hub for over 1,500 small and medium garment manufacturers, is witnessing a significant upswing in business as the wedding season fuels demand from both local and outstation markets.

The period, extending from October’s Navratri festivities to February-end weddings, traditionally accounts for nearly 60 per cent of the industry’s annual turnover, and 2025 promises to surpass expectations.

"This year looks promising as the number of weddings is high. Preparations began months ago, and dispatches are already underway," said Ashish Nigam, president of the Readymade Textile Dealers Association.

Manufacturers have ramped up production and inventory to meet the seasonal demand, with Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh emerging as key markets. Industry players project that southern states will account for nearly 50 per cent of total sales.

The bustling demand has invigorated supply chains, with orders coming from Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana alongside southern states.

"Orders are robust, and we anticipate excellent business. The extended wedding season provides ample opportunities," noted Arun Bakliwal, a prominent cloth trader in Indore’s market.

Outstation retailers are driving a significant share of demand. Manufacturers report a surge in new orders, with dispatches expected to peak in the coming weeks. "We have escalated production to ensure timely supplies," said an industry insider.

As wedding season preparations continue, the garment industry’s buoyancy reflects its importance to Indore’s economy. With heightened consumer spending on bridal attire, festive wear, and traditional clothing, the market is thriving.
