Maharashtra govt allows all industrial units under section 8 (a) and 8 (b) to operate in state
Mumbai, Apr 4 (KNN) The Maharashtra government has allowed all industrial unit under section 8 (a) and 8 (b) to operate in the state without any permission during lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
''All Industrial activities falling under 8 (a) and 8 (b) do not require any permission to operate. No written/ electronic prior permission is needed to restart or to continue the production activities,'' said the government in a clarification letter to revised lockdown orders to official concerned.
The clarification letter also sought district authorities to ensure single-point movement permissions (If required) for labour/workforce requested by the unit.
''The units must operate on barest minimum staff and must follow the guidelines issued regarding internal hygiene, social distancing and health monitoring,'' the letter read further.
All necessary packaging units required for industrial units of 8 (a) in the said order are allowed to operate, it added.
The letter further said that to ensure the uninterrupted supply chain of raw material for all industrial units in the said order, all units which produce such raw material are allowed to operate.
''The raw material supplier must ensure that it is on the list of suppliers to the concerned manufacturers before the date of said order. Any breach will lead to suspension of licences to such raw material producing units,'' the letter added.
The government has allowed all the movements of the goods (warehouse-stockist-wholesales-retailer).
