Maharashtra Govt to promote export of 113 products under ODOP and work on new MSME policy

Mumbai, Mar 25 (KNN) The Maharashtra government has decided to promote exports of 113 products under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme across the state and is also working on a new policy for MSMEs.  Maharashtra’s Minister for Industries, mining and Marathi language, Subhash Desai while speaking at a state level workshop supported by MVIRDC World Trade Center Mumbai said that the state is optimistic to grow its export potential to 1,000 products.

He said the top policy priority in the state is given to Industry 4.0, Data Centers, Robotics and Electric Vehicles which will make Maharashtra as the hub for manufacturing Electric Vehicles in coming years.

Baldev Singh (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) informed that the state is working on a new policies for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), IT & ITeS for services sector with a separate single window system under its IT & ITeS Policy.

“It has also identified 15 sunrise sectors for development, including additive manufacturing, Internet of Things, 3D Printing etc,” Singh said.

The Maharashtra Export Promotion Portal that provides latest information on focus export products, potential markets, government policies, procedures and other guide materials for exports was also launched by the minister as also an ODOP booklet that showcases 113 focus products for exports from the state.

Recalling the ambitious achievement of USD 400 billion export target, Dr. Harshadeep Kamble (IAS), Maharashtra’s Development Commissioner (Industries) & Commissioner (Exports) who was also present at the workshop said, “The state government aims to increase its annual exports from the current USD 60 billion to USD 100  billion in the next few years.” (KNN Bureau)
