Maharashtra to host agriculture expo at Nagpur

Nagpur, Dec 23 (KNN)  In an initiative to highlight contribution of Maharashtra in the growth of national agricultural economy, the central government in collaboration with Maharashtra government is organising “National Agriculture Fair cum Exhibition- Krishi Vasant” in Nagpur.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is the strategic partner of the event which is scheduled on February 9 to 13, 2014. The Central Institute of Cotton Research (CICR) is also involved in the event.

The exhibition with theme pavilions under different segments along with seminars, workshops, kisan goshthies, Live Crop Demonstration and cultural events will be organised during the five-day event.

Innovative technologies will also be exhibited through 'Live Demonstrations' in the fields by various organizations such as Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutions, South Asian Universities (SAUs), Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), central and station level organizations in public and private sector from across the country, on all crops and commodities in agriculture and allied sectors.

In this context, the government is inviting technical and financial bids for housekeeping and conservancy, event management services, operation of electric generators, security services and IT and equipment required during the course of event.

More than one lakh farmers from various states, national and international delegations, business representatives are expected to visit the event sector.

Apart from this, the event would witness participation of national and international delegations, business representatives, agriculturist, farmers and many more.  (KNN/ST)
