Maharashtra govt to set up six skill centres across state

Pune, June 30 (KNN) Maharashtra’s industry minister Uday Samant on Thursday informed that six skill centres will be set up across the state to provide industry-related education to the students.

As per reports, the skill centres will be set up in Pune, Nashik, Amravati, Nagpur and Sambhajinagar districts.

Speaking to the media at the VVIP Circuit House in Pune, Samant said,” Through these skill centres, students will be provided industry-related education and later, they will be given jobs in nearby industries.”

The industries minister also informed about the other projects approved by the state cabinet in the meeting on Wednesday.

“A jewellery industry will be set up at 21-acre in Navi Mumbai to accommodate at least 2,000 businessmen from the diamond and related industries. The project will come up at an investment of around Rs 20,000 crore and will provide 1 lakh job opportunities,” he said.

As per report, a leather cluster has also been approved by the government at Raigad district with Rs 385 crore fund from the Centre.

Talking about industrialists and businessmen in MIDC areas threatened by goons, Samant said, “Anyone found guilty in such cases will face action as per the law. I have taken review meetings at MIDC in the last one year and upgradation works related to electricity supply to industries is our priority.”  (KNN Bureau)
