PM Narendra Modi To Launch 511 Rural Skill Development Centers in Maharashtra to Boost Employment

Mumbai, Oct 17 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate 511 Pramod Mahajan Rural Skill Development Centers in Maharashtra, said state officials.

According to a report by TOI, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday reviewed the preparations ahead of the inauguration.

The concept of Pramod Mahajan Rural Skill Development Center is to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the state and promote the development of rural areas.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also given priority to employment opportunities and self-reliance of the youth in rural areas. It is also a matter of pride that this innovative concept of Maharashtra is being inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The program should be planned to reach as many people as possible,” CM Shinde said.

“This is an important step to promote employment opportunities for youth and development of rural areas. PM Modi has given his time for this program and supported this scheme. Therefore, the information of these centers has been given an opportunity to reach people through this inauguration ceremony,” he said.

“The program is expected to gain national attention. So all systems should be ready. Along with skill development, industry, revenue, rural development, our women and child development departments should also participate in this. Plan for colleges and universities to participate as well. This is a start. Going forward, the number of these centers will be increased. Therefore, in the first phase, this center will be started in the villages. Planning should be done on how the citizens of the surrounding villages, people's representatives and various elements will participate in it,” CM Shinde added.

Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha said that, there is no system of skill development in the rural areas of the state.

“Keeping this in mind we are implementing this concept. This topic is on the priority list of PM Modi. His stand is that youth should not migrate from villages to cities for employment. In that sense, this concept of skill center is important. He also said that the number of these centers in the state will also be increased in the future,” he said.
