Major industrial boost in Odisha, 14 new industries to be set-up

Bhubaneswar, Feb 21 (KNN) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of 14 industries and inaugurated four industrial units via video conferencing here.

The initiative will give a major boost to the state’s economy by providing jobs to more than 3500 people.

“My government is working towards ensuring that investment intents get converted into actual investments,” Naveen said adding, “We witnessed ground breaking of 14 new projects and inauguration of another four industrial projects today.”

He tweeted, “Happy to break ground & inaugurate 18 #MakeInOdisha projects which will create thousands of jobs for Odisha’s youths. Vibrant business environment, friendly policies & Industry Care initiatives help in a faster grounding of projects, making #Odisha, Manufacturing Hub of the East.”

Patnaik added that GO-SWIFT, a single window portal, has received over 600 industrials project applications in the last 14 months.

Speaking on the Launch Programme, Chief Secretary AP Padhi asserted that a dedicated mechanism of ‘Industry Care’ has been launched recently to facilitate and provide ‘aftercare services’ to the Industrial Units set up in the State of Odisha.

He added that the E-Suvidha Portal, which was till now handling the grievances of Industrial Units with an Investment of more than Rs 50 crores, will now be extended to MSMEs.

Patnaik said that among prominent projects inaugurated was a cement plant at Kalinganagar, a planned industrial and modern town in Jajpur district of coastal Odisha.

Cement Plant has an investment of over Rs 400 crores, an official said adding that the plant has a potential to create around 258 jobs, he added. (KNN/JM)
