Medical skill centre to come up in Babadam, Meghalaya

Babadam, Aug 31 (KNN) The Centre for medical skills for paramedical staff will come up at Babadam in West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya.

The Meghalaya cabinet on Tuesday approved the construction of Centre that will be built at the cost of Rs 151.95 crores.

The Medical Skill Hunar Hub will have space for 2500 students with hostel facilities, Pharmaceutical College, Paramedical College & Skill Development Centre.

Speaking about the upcoming centre, the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, said “10 percent of Rs 151.95 crores will be borne by the Meghalaya administration, while the remaining Rs 135 crores will be funded by the centre.”

The state administration had first initiated the idea to build the skill centre in 2020.The skill centre will be one of the largest centre for medical skills across the North East region. (KNN Bureau)
