Mega Boost for Himachal’s MSME Sector: Rs 60 Crore Cluster Development Initiative Launched
Shimla, Dec 11 (KNN) The Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Cottage Industries Corporation (HPDCIC), in collaboration with the MSME Development Office, hosted a national seminar as part of a three-day exhibition fair at Chaugan Ground in Nahan.
The event, held under the Procurement and Marketing Assistance Scheme of the MSME Ministry, featured prominent stakeholders from across the state's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Ajay Solanki, Member of Legislative Assembly for Nahan, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the critical role of government initiatives in supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
He highlighted the state's significant entrepreneurial landscape, noting over 1,89,000 registered enterprises and the successful implementation of the Just Entrepreneurial Development (JED) scheme, which has awarded numerous bronze, silver, and gold certificates to deserving businesses.
The seminar provided a comprehensive platform for discussing government support mechanisms and entrepreneurial development.
Key speakers from various national financial and industrial institutions, including the Reserve Bank of India, SIDBI, National Small Industries Corporation, and the District Industries Centre, shared valuable insights into available schemes and support programs for small businesses.
Solanki revealed that more than 50 micro and small enterprises had already benefited from the Procurement and Marketing Assistance Scheme this year.
He also announced a significant cluster development initiative, with ministry-approved projects worth over Rs 60 crore aimed at boosting regional industrial development.
The exhibition fair presented a unique opportunity for enterprises from Sirmaur and other regions to showcase their products.
In alignment with MSME Ministry guidelines, the MSME Development Office will provide financial support to participating enterprises, offering reimbursement for stall expenses and contingency costs up to Rs 80,000.
Sumit Khimta, Deputy Commissioner of Sirmaur, and other distinguished guests underscored the event's importance in fostering entrepreneurship, skill development, and collaboration among various stakeholders.
The seminar represents a significant step towards promoting economic growth and supporting the state's vibrant MSME sector.
