Mega national SC-ST hub conclave to begin tomorrow in Manipur

Churachandpur, Sept 1 (KNN) The mega national SC-ST Hub (NSSH) conclave organised by the MSME ministry to promote entrepreneurship in Churachandpur district of Manipur is going be held tomorrow.

The aim of the MSME- NSSH conclave is to promote entrepreneurship and make development reach across all sections of society, especially the marginalised groups, including SC/ST entrepreneurs.

While addressing the press meet held at Manipur Press Club on Wednesday, NSSH general manager (senior grade), Delhi head office KK Sharma said that the aim of the MSME- NSSH conclave is to provide opportunity to develop coherence with state government and collaborate with National SC-ST Hub for achievement of higher goals.

For inclusive growth, the ministry of MSME implements the National SC/ST Hub scheme with an objective of creating an ecosystem for SC/ST and help them participate in the public procurement process to reach at least 4 per cent.This scheme has so far benefitted 356 members of the SC/ST community in Manipur.

“Given the impact of MSMEs on an economy, it is imperative that focused efforts are given to promote entrepreneurship amongst the youth and create a conducive ecosystem where they play an integral role in the development of the Indian economy to realise the five trillion USD Economy,” he said.

The National SC/ST Hub will be chaired by union minister of state for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, ministry of MSME, government of India in presence of state minister of textiles, commerce and industry department and co-operation, government of Manipur Nemcha Kipgen and others eminent minister and officials of the state government department.

Explaining more about the scheme, he said that the MSME sector plays a significant role in terms of job creation and improving livelihood. Currently, it consists of over 6 crore units employing over 11 crore people, contributing significantly to economic growth with over 30 percent of contribution to GDP and over 49 percent of overall exports from India.  (KNN Bureau)
