New Delhi, Oct 4 (KNN) Eyeing at facilitating innovation in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the region, Marathwada Institute of Technology (MIT) in association with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), along with Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries & Agriculture (MASSIA) and Chamber of Marathwada industries and Agriculture (CMIA) organized a workshop on cryogenic technology for the MSMEs in Aurangabad.

The main aim of the workshop was to address the need for technological upgradation among the manufacturing MSMEs.

Due to lack of consistency in production parameters and other various external factors, tooling life has always been a great concern for all manufacturing industries. Due to less tooling life, Industries suffer huge operational cost and bad quality of parts, CMIA said in a statement.

With Cryogenic treatment being an important technology by which tooling life can be increased considerably with a minimal investment, the implementation of it in the manufacturing MSMEs is likely to prove positive.

Over 80 participants from across all metal forming and cutting industries in Aurangabad region attended the workshop.

During the workshop, the MSMEs were given sessions on the new technology, various heat treatment cycles etc.

Also a live demonstration of cryogenic treatment working was also given to the industries participants attending the workshop.

Following the workshop, MIT, CMIA and GIZ also inked commitment towards strengthening of industry via academic collaboration through more such real engagement on new research and technologies areas.

Key officials present during the event included MIT Director Munish Sharma, CMIA President Prasad Kokil and GIZ representative Tasvvar Ali. (KNN/DA)
