Models of thermal, solar, biogas plants to be displayed in Nagpur museum

Nagpur, Sept 27 (KNN) In order to depict live models of generation of thermal, gas, solar, biogas, nuclear and other sources of electricity, the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (Mahagenco) intends to develop the existing museum building into a state of the art museum.

The electricity generation process includes transmission and distribution; therefore such models can educate visiting rural and urban population about it.

The idea is to prepare a master plan for development of museum and surrounding areas with special emphasis on depicting the live models with educational shows, interviews of eminent personalities in the auditorium.   

Mahagenco has the highest overall generation capacity with utmost thermal installed capacity amongst all the state power generation utilities in India. In terms of installed capacity, it is the second highest generation company after the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).

All major thermal, hydro and gas turbine power stations have adopted the ISO 9001:2000 certification. Also, it is the only state utility having a well-balanced generation portfolio involving thermal, hydel and gas stations.

Mahagenco is an eco-friendly power generating company and has received certification for its major power stations at Chandrapur, Koradi, Khaperkheda, Nasik, Parli and at Koyna and Uran power stations also. (KNN/GUNJ)
