New Delhi, May 29 (KNN) The government will leave no stone unturned in order to keep the economic activity in Madhya Pradesh (MP) intact, said Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon, state Minister for Industrial Policy & Investment Promotion.

Addressing the virtual launch of ‘FICCI-P&G-Apollo Hospitals COVID Vaccination Drive’ at P&G’s Mandideep plant in Madhya Pradesh, on Friday, Dattigaon said, “Industry should start the procedure of procuring vaccines directly from the manufacturers and the state Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion will ensure to provide all necessary assistance.''

''The government will leave no stone unturned in order to keep the economic activity in Madhya Pradesh intact. We are taking steps to restart the supply of industrial oxygen as well and urge the industry to come forward,” he emphasized.

The Minister further said that the industry has been working during the entire challenging COVID time and ensuring zero-man days loss.

“It is now time for the industry to support the community. The industry should also come forward and donate to the CM Relief Fund as the government is utilizing every penny to save lives,” he added.

On the vaccination drive in the state, Dattigaon said that initially there were challenges but now with vaccine availability more people are coming forward.

“More and more industries should also take the responsibility of vaccinating their staff. I thank FICCI and P&G along with Apollo Hospitals for starting the vaccination drive and it will go a long way in creating a safe environment for the nearby region as well. I hope that we go all the way to ensure a safe and healthy future not just for our people, but the society as a whole,” he added.

Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Investment Promotion, Madhya Pradesh government said that the people who were managing the pandemic including the frontline workers and administration were the first to be vaccinated.

''It is now the private sector to give a message that you (industry) care for the people and starting the vaccination drive is the best way to give the message to employees and families along with industry partners,'' he said.

Madhusudan Gopalan, Chairman, FICCI FMCG Committee & CEO, Procter & Gamble India said, "We are stepping up to support our employees, consumers and communities in these tough times. We are proud to be among the first companies to host a vaccination drive of this scale for our employees. In addition, we are contributing Rs 5 crore for the vaccination of the broader community in Madhya Pradesh.''

''We all need to play an important role in the fight against the pandemic, and we hope that our actions inspire others to come forward. I want to thank the government, FICCI and Apollo hospitals for their partnership in this initiative," he avowed.
