MRPL MSME-DI holds Vendor Development Program for SC-ST MSMEs in Mangaluru

New Delhi, Mar 10 (KNN) Eyeing at handholding the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of the region of entrepreneurs belonging to the SC-ST community, MSME-DI in association with Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) organizes a special vendor development program.

Speaking at the event, Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director DIC highlighted the importance of major PSUs handholding the micro, small and medium enterprises and adding to the overall growth of the region.

Addressing the participating MSMEs, Socrates, Deputy Director, MSME-DI stressed on the need to take advantage of the available benefits under the procurement policy.

A live demonstration was made on how the vendors can utilise the MRPL Web Portal to participate and submit bids in E-tenders.

Also during the daylong event, the vendors were given information on registering their products at the Government E Market place, (GeM portal) in order to reach a wider consumer base.

The event also had an interactive session during which the participating MSMEs raised concerns pertaining to the available MSME schemes.

The program was conducted along the lines of the Public Procurement Policy, 2012 that mandated 4 per cent of total procurement of goods and services made by Central Ministries and CPSEs to be from Micro and Small Enterprises owned by SC & ST entrepreneurs.
