MSME delegation apprises MoS C&I of issues faced by them

Ludhiana, Jun 18 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has met the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Prakash, and apprised him of the problems being faced by them.

A delegation led by Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), on Wednesday, also discussed PPE Kit, finance to MSME and other issues.

The delegation asserted that MSMEs are finding it difficult to manage their finances as there is no inflow of money and the overall working capital cycle has increased.

''Many leading public sector banks are not following RBI’s policy directive. The Banks should speed-up the process of distribution of loans to the Industry at minimum documentation,'' the delegation demanded.

Related to PPE kits, delegation informed the minister that HLL Lifecare Limited (Ltd) is an enterprise of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, but it is not releasing payments for amounts overdue to PPE kit manufacturers. They should be released immediately, so they could pay wages and clear vendor payments.

''The testing point of all garments should be standardized and should not cancel/ban any vendor for failure on the product for the next six months,'' the delegation added.

The cost of pre-dispatch inspection and testing at 2.0% of the invoice value is high. New instructions should be given for quality checks on inventories at our warehouse, it said.

The minister assured the delegation that he will take up the matter with the Centre and try to resolve it as soon as possible, said an official statement from CICU.
