MSME-DI holds National Level Vendor Development Program-cum-Exhibition at Siliguri

New Delhi, Feb 27 (KNN) In order to build strong and deep connection between MSME and large scale enterprises, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSMEDI) of GoI has organized a National Level vendor Development Program-cum-exhibition (NLVDP) at Siliguri.

This 3 day event began on February 26, 2018 and will continue till February 28, 2018.

The objective of the program is to provide a platform for interaction and exchange of views between the MSMEs and PSUs, to highlight the Vendor Registration Procedure of PSUs/government departments, to explore indigenous sources for imported items procured by the PSUs/government departments and to exhibit products/services of the participating MSMEs during the NLVDP.

Sudip Sen, Assistant Director MSMEDI said “this forum would motivate all to extract mutual benefit from each other to augment their growth through better co-existence.”

The motive is also to highlight GoI public procurement policy 2012, acc to which all the central Ministries, PSUs or Government departments must procure minimum 20% of their annual requirement from the MSMEs.

The policy has already played a vital role in giving major boost to the MSME sector pulling up its contribution to national GDP to 38%.

MSMEs contributions to national industrial output or export have also gone up to 37% and 40% respectively.

NTPC General Manager (C & M) NM Gupta said that it is important for MSMEs to have clear understanding about specific need of PSUs and PSUs to have fair idea of the MSMEs capability for the MSME sector to grow further.

He further said that “this two way interactive platform can play a vital role”

NTPC is a major supporter to MNME-DI in organizing the event along with Federation of Association of Small Industries of India (FASII) and Siliguri industries. (KNN/YV)
