MSME Expo 2017 cum Industrial Exhibition kicks off in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 8 (KNN) MSME Expo 2017, the National Level Vendor Development Programme cum Industrial Exhibition was inaugurated today.

The event has been organized by MSME Development Institute, New Delhi in association with SIDBI, Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW),Rail Coach Factory(RCF), Kapurthala and Central Organization of Workshop of Railways,(COFMOW).

The programme is focused to the public procurement order for MSMEs and will open marketing opportunity to MSEs in the Rs. 60, 000 crore plus annual procurement by Railways.  

S.R. Samuel, joint Development Commissioner, in the office of DC MSME in his inaugural address mentioned that the goal of make in India could only be  accomplished by making quality products supported by  market availability.

He mentioned that the   exhibition would bridge the gap between the MSMEs and PSUs a crucial gap in the public procurement from MSMEs initiative.

In his welcome address Vijay Kumar, Director, MSME-Development Institute Okhla, New Delhi said that the government of India announced the public procurement policy in 2012 to promote procurement from MSMEs and in April 2015 it was made mandatory for all CPSUs (Central Public Sector Undertakings) to procure 20% from MSMEs.

The Director also mentioned that the MSME development institute had done rigorous exercise to select 65-70 MSMEs that would showcase their products.

He added that the event would provide an ideal platform for the government, PSUs, Indian Railways and MSMEs to enter into partnerships.
