MSME units increased by 25.33% in Madhya Pradesh from 2015 to 2016: MP Economic Survey

Bhopal, Mar 1 (KNN) There has been an increase of 25.33% in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector in Madhya Pradesh, highlighted the MP Economic Survey tabled in the Assembly.

The number of MSME units has increased from 48,179 units in 2015-16 to 60,384 units in December 2016.

Meanwhile, there are 14.11 lakh unemployed youth in the state, of which 12.98 lakh are educated, as per the latest figures released in the state Economic Survey.

In 2015, the report stated, a total 15.60 lakh unemployed youth were registered in employment exchanges across the state. The number had declined to 14.11 lakh by the end of 2016. Of these, 12.42 lakh educated unemployed were registered in 2015, and it increased to 12.98 lakh in 2016.

The state's GDP is estimated to be at 12.21% net during 2016-17 while the net per capita income rose from Rs 46,783 in 2015-16 to Rs 51,852 in 2016-17, as per the survey.

The economic survey also highlighted achievements in the fields of agriculture, industry and infrastructure. The state recorded a growth of 25.81 in crop production, the highest in the country.
