MSMEs are the thrust areas during the first ever Global Investors Summit in state: Jharkhand CM

Ranchi, Feb 10 (KNN) Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has said micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are his thrust areas during the first ever Global Investors Summit being organized in the state and investors have promised to go in partnership with them in their projects.

There are speculations that all the corporate big wigs of the country including Rata Tata will be in Jharkhand to attend the summit.

The Summit will be held in the state capital on February 16 and 17. Nearly 5,000 delegates are expected to take part in the event. Business honchos such as Ratan Tata, Kumarangalam Birla, Gautam Adani Shashi Ruia and Sanjiv Puri have confirmed their participation.

"I want to reverse the label of a regressive state that is tagged to Jharkhand into one of the most progressive ones in the country," the CM said.

A flying elephant has been chosen as the summit's mascot.

"Jharkhand has been bestowed with plenty of natural resources and rich forests, but has only got poverty, unemployment and migration in return," Das said.

"To reverse the scenario, the government has evolved various policies to develop not only the agriculture sector but industries and forests too," he added.
