MSMEs in Indore to protest against government for increasing maintenance charges

New Delhi, May 2 (KNN) Opposing increase in maintenance charges, the MSME industrialists of Madhya Pradesh have decided to hold a protest against the state government, which claims to have promoted ‘Make in MP’ drive.

The agitation will be staged opposite District Industries Centre office on May 4 and industrialists will form a human chain as a mark of Protest.

The MSMEs alleged that the charges have been raised by 400% while before 2009 there were no maintenance charges under the purview of DIC and from 2009, DIC imposed the charge on industrialists at the rate of 2.5% per square metre which was not much.

Annoyed over the rise in maintenance charges, senior vice-president of AIMP Pramod Dafaria and state president of Laghu Udyog Bharti Mahesh Gupta called upon industrialists to take part in the agitation in large numbers.

In this regard, Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh is organizing meeting of industrialists in different industrial areas.

AIMP president, Alok Dave said that the state government has raised maintenance charge with interest and penalty without taking industrial organizations into confidence.

The meeting was held at Sanwer Road Industrial Area on Monday to discuss the issue. (KNN/YV)
