MSMEs in J&K submits memorandum requesting provisions for labour-licensing

New Delhi, Sept 9 (KNN) In order to voice their demands regarding the various compliances under the labour laws, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)  in Jammu held discussions with Abdul Rashid (KAS), Labour Commissioner, J&K Govt.

The MSME body Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) organized the meeting in which the sector discussed the issue related to the industrial sector with regard to the exemption to micro and small scale units with the employment of less ten workers from preview of factory license.

BBIA urged the commissioner that the small scale units factory license to be renewed for a period of five years instead of the present yearly renewal.

Further the association highlighted the problems with the ESIC hospitals. BBIA said that there is acute shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in the ESI dispensaries across the state,

Other issues discussed during the meeting included non-issuance of provident fund contribution statement of the employees, adoption of ease of doing concept for the on line submission of the returns related to labour department and other related issues.

Responding to the concerns, the Commissioner assured steps are being taken by the department to resolve the pending issues related to the industrial sector. He further said that his department is committed in facilitating the  ease of doing business concept for the industrial units of the state on priority. (KNN/ DA)
