MSMEs in Ludhiana highlight industry issues before officials

Ludhiana, Jun 24 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have attended a meeting with officials of the administration and highlighted the problems faced by the industries here.

In the meeting, CICU President, Upkar Singh Ahuja apprised the officials that the industries were going through difficult times and required skilled and unskilled manpower.

''There is a shortage of approximately 6 Lac skilled and unskilled manpower. CICU provided data of employees required immediately by Industry like: Mig Welders, Press Man, CNC operator fitters, Painter, Electrician, Tailor, Overlock operator, flat operator etc,'' CICU said in a statement on Tuesday.

ADC (Development) Amrit Singh assured his full support to Industry to provide manpower and said, ''Data shared by Industry will be analysed and manpower will be provided.''

Later, she asked BDPO to collect data in villages for skilled and unskilled employees etc. so that they can be facilitated to work in factories. Regarding self-employment she advised the lead banks to speed up loans for unemployed youths and also advised ITI for holding virtual job fairs from which Industry must make best use out of it.

Pankaj Sharma asserted CICU has set up a help desk to provide manpower to Industries & employment to youth.
