MSMSEs in J&K seek upgradation of ESIC hospital

Jammu, Feb 7 (KNN) The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jammu and Kashmir have urged the Lt Governor G C Murmu to upgrade the ESIC hospital.

Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) on Thursday held a meeting to discuss about formation of Employees Insurance Society by the state government.

“We submit that at present around 70,000 industrial workers are registered with ESIC Jammu which is over-burdened with shortage of doctors and para-medical staff and it is the need of hour to upgrade the present hospital from 50 to 100-bedded. Keeping in mind the massive investment on cards in industrial and service sector in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in near future, it is the need of the hour to create additional facilities besides upgrading 50-bedded hospital to 100-bedded to accommodate additional workforce under ESIC Scheme,” Lalit Mahajan, President BBIA said.

“We request the LG to kindly issue necessary orders for providing Land and Building to ESIC for construction of additional facilities for upgradation of existing ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana with requisite infrastructure as early as possible,” he added.
