MTNL subsidiary to develop skill in electronic devices

Jammu, Jul 18 (KNN) Millennium Telecom Ltd, a subsidiary of the MTNL, is launching a skill development initiative in the area of training in electronic devices and Integrated circuits.
In order to provide skill development in Electronic Service Design Manufacturing (ESDM) and ICT Training to SC/ST/Women across Jammu and Kashmir, the Millennium Telecom Ltd seeks vendors to implement the project.
Skill development in Electronic Service Design Manufacturing (ESDM) will generate quality manpower in the area of Electronic System Design and Manufacturing.
Millennium Telecom (MTL), incorporated on February 17, 2000, is a wholly owned subsidiary of MTNL that has been formed to do practically any type of telecom business with a focus on value added services.
In 2011, the expert group formulated under the Chairmanship of C Rangarajan, to formulate a jobs plan for the State of Jammu and Kashmir, recommended two flagship schemes for J&K-Himayat and Udaan. Both these scheme were launched in 2011.
Himayat, under the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), aims to train and place 1,00,000 J&K youth over five years through private training providers in entry-level jobs. Udaan, on the other hand, aims to train and place 40,000 J&K youth over five years.
The scheme is funded by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and is targeted at graduates and post-graduates, who are trained and placed by corporate partners outside J&K. (KNN/SD)
