NABARD to host All India Crafts-Art Mela in Jammu from Sept 26

Jammu, Sept 23 (KNN) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development is organising All India Crafts-Art Mela- Gramya 2022 at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, Jammu from 26 September to 2 October.

The primary objective of this mela is to provide artisans from across the country, a platform to display and sell their handloom and handicraft products.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu on Thursday, Deputy General Manager (DGM), NABARD, J&K Regional office, Anamika said, “The exhibition will provide a suitable opportunity to SHGs, Artisans, FPOs, OFPOs to showcase their products, understand customer preferences, learn new marketing skills as well as develop a customer base.”

General Manager, NABARD, J&K Regional office, Sandeep Sharma said that special and authentic products from different parts of the country will be available in this exhibition, which are generally not available in J&K.

Sharma said that stalls from 18 states across the country i.e. Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, etc will be installed in the exhibition.

As per reports, the exhibition will feature some of the exclusive products like Tussar silk sarees from Jharkhand, Jaipuri quilts and Charma juttis from Rajasthan, Chikankari from Uttar Pradesh, world famous Mithila and Madhubani paintings from Bihar, etc.

Local products from the valley such as Basohli pashmina, Kashmiri carpet and Organic haldi, honey, etc will also be at the display.  (KNN Bureau)
