DPIIT organises startup workshops in all 8 North-Eastern states under ASCEND program

Kohima, Nov 24 (KNN) Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is organising startup workshops in all the eight states of the Northeast, including Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, and Mizoram under the program ‘ASCEND’ (Accelerating Startup Calibre and Entrepreneurial Drive). 

On Wednesday, a capacity-building workshop was held in Kohima, Nagaland in collaboration with Department of Industries and Commerce. 

For entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs, and students from the north-eastern region Startup India, DPIIT will be organising a series of workshops. 

For developing a robust startup ecosystem these capacity-building workshops aim to provide access to apt guidance, requisite infrastructure, and a thriving network of ecosystem enablers such as mentors and academia. 

Highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship, Finance Secretary, V Kezo said the state government has decided to provide a corpus fund of Rs 60 crore to promote entrepreneurship in the state. 

He said that the funds will be provided in the form of providing subsidies and low interest rates.

The one day workshop comprised of sensitisation and awareness sessions, startup booth camps and knowledge sessions for startups, entrepreneurs and ecosystem enablers. (KNN Bureau)
