Nagaland Governor tells youth to focus on Agriculture, MSMEs for economic development
Kohima, Nov 4 (KNN) For the economic development of Nagaland the youth must take up entrepreneurship in the field of agriculture and MSME sector, said Governor of Nagaland and Assam Prof Jagdish Mukhi on Thursday.
He was addressing the inaugural programme of the three-day National Innovate Integrate Expand (NIIE) Trade Fair organised by Business Association of Nagas (BAN).
The event will conclude on November 5, 2022 and is supported by the Union Ministry of MSME at Agri Expo Centre under the theme “Innovate, Integrate, Expand”.
The Governor gave examples of states such as Punjab and Haryana that had developed by focusing on agriculture and MSMEs.
He suggested that one could develop their ancestral lands into farmlands and use modern agriculture technology and the ones who had capital for investment could enter into MSME sector.
“It is because of the combination of MSMEs and agriculture that Punjab and Haryana have developed in the country,” he claimed.
He urged Naga youth not to look for jobs on contractual basis, including Grade IV contractual jobs, after postgraduation, lamenting that this was a trend in the State and termed it “unfortunate”. (KNN Bureau)
