National SC/ST Hub launched in Sikkim to provide support to SC-ST entrepreneurs of NE region

Gangtok, Feb 26 (KNN) National SC/ST Hub (NSSH), an initiative of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been launched in Sikkim to provide professional support to SC-ST entrepreneurs to fulfill the objective of 4% procurement from Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) as per the mandate of the Public Procurement Policy.

The hub is providing handholding support to SC-ST MSEs through finance facilitation, e-tendering support, CPSE connect, market linkages and development of new entrepreneurs to participate in procurement process.

Speaking at a press meet here, Commerce & Industries principal secretary Dr. Thomas Chandy informed that the conclave, to be held in Sikkim, aims to sensitize the potential and existing entrepreneurs on the various schemes of the government.

Briefing on the other objectives of the conclave, Legislators Parliamentarians working President, Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal said, “The conclave aims to understand how NSSH can collaborate with State government and work together at the ground level to augment the capabilities of existing SC/ST entrepreneurs.”

He added, “The programme also aims to hold interaction with industry associations and incubators to understand their expectations about NSSH programmes while also on boarding them to play a larger role.”

“The organizers have invited resource persons from various sectors and also successful entrepreneurs to share their stories and motivate the young entrepreneurs,” he said. (KNN/JM)
