Navi Mumbai Exhibition Centre to have state-of-the-art facilities

Mumbai, Sept 2 (KNN)  Towards promoting high level of interaction between businesses, the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO) is developing the Navi Mumbai Exhibition Centre with state-of-the-art facilities.

The complex will feature an Exhibition Centre, a Business Centre and an Ancillary Block and is proposed to be a 'Green Building' certified by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) under the LEED criteria, as per official data.

Strategically located in Vashi, the complex will be spread across an area of 7.4 hectares, fully air conditioned with underground air distribution system for exhibition hall, day light harvesting and recycled water to be used for flushing and gardening purpose.

The Exhibition Centre will comprise two large exhibition halls, sub-divisible for smaller events and functions with ancillary facilities, meeting rooms, cafes, lounges, food court, etc.  There will also be a central hall between two blocks used as additional exhibition space or special occasion area and a public hall measuring approximately 2,600 sq m on the first flood.

On the other hand, the Business Centre will have an extension to the main exhibition centre across the road.  While the first level will have a 750 seat auditorium, entrance foyer, conference centre and open plaza; the second level will house a banquet hall, rehearsal halls, staff areas, elevated plaza with amphitheatre; and the third a large multipurpose hall with pantry facility.

As far as the Ancillary block is concerned, on the first level it will accommodate administration and plaza, maintenance office; and the second level a food court, library and semi-open gathering space for social functions.

Further, in addition to a food court offering a range of cuisines, there will be a bridge connecting the Exhibition and Business Centre at first floor level, while the parking area can house 450 cars.

CIDCO which is wholly owned by the Government of Maharashtra has invited bids to operate and maintain the Navi Mumbai Exhibition Centre for a period of nine years on leave and license basis.  (KNN/ES)
