NE handicraft body to sell products online

Guwahati, Apr 4, (KNN) The North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation (NEHHDC) is planning to sell and promote the region’s handloom and handicraft products in the online space.

The corporation is seeking an online marketing partner associated with at least five national and international firms like Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Jabong and Ebay.

The partner will be responsible for activities like product photo shoots, merchandising the products on the partner portal, keeping the products in warehouse, packing and dispatching orders received from the customers, working with online partners on promoting the brand through e-mail, ads and banners and developing facebook page and engaging customers on monthly basis.

Towards this, the corporation has invited bids from reputed agencies for selling and promoting North Eastern handicraft and handloom products.

NEHHDC is an organisation that attempts to develop and promote the indigenous crafts of the region by connecting craftsmen to prospective markets and consumers and generating economic, cultural and social opportunities for creators while adding cultural value for consumers. The corporation is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).

It has a vision to improve the quality of life of artisans, weavers and entrepreneurs by increasing demand for North East handicraft and handloom products in the national and international markets. (KNN/ST)
