No doubt BJP did lot for growth and development of North Eastern Region: FINER
Guwahati, May 23 (KNN) The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the north eastern region have hailed Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) win in the Lok Sabha polls. The industries from the region have pinned hope that the government will bring north eastern states at par with other states in terms of sustainable development.
Talking to KNN India, R S Joshi from Federation of Industries of North Eastern Region (FINER) said, "No doubt the BJP government did a lot for the growth and development of entire region. But this region wants to come at par with advance states and advance regions of the nation."
This should be the focus of new government so that sustainable development could take place, he said.
BJP is leading on 10 seats out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Bijoya Chakravarty of BJP won in this seat by defeating the INC candidate by a margin of 3,15,784 votes which was 20.89% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 50.60% in 2014 in the seat. There were a total of 18 contestants in 2014. (KNN Bureau)
